Bespoke Character Costume makers Costumes with Character are reaping the benefits of their relocation of their business from a 1700’s house to a brand new high tech industrial unit in Stockport. We recently heard from Managing Director Liz Milnes, who had the following to say:

“Choosing KPM to design, fit out and project manage the interior of my new company premises was the best decision I could have made. The project wasn't easy, the timescale was limited, the building wasn't finished on time and just to make things a little more interesting I was based in Australia.

The process started with a phone call to the designer who visited my existing premises (built in 1755!) and talked to staff about what their work spaces required, and improvements that could be made.

So many areas used such a clever design to maximise the space and enable different departments to share the limited natural day light available. The office design and layout is brilliant, it is hard to imagine you are in an industrial shed. I couldn't imagine working with a better designer who made the whole process stress free and enjoyable even with the distance (10.000 miles) where everything had to be done by email and phone.

Working with the Project Manager from KPM was fantastic because one of his best qualities was his calm confident and professional manner, nothing is too big a problem, and everything problem is solvable, even if it one of his to solve.

Every phone call was answered, every problem was solved, every snag on the snag list was sorted, and even 2 years on, I can rely on KPM to sort out any extras or changes quickly and efficiently.

The flexibility was also refreshing, when I realised I had more stock than storage, changing the size and shape of the mezzanine and racking systems wasn't a problem.

They also negotiated with the developers on my behalf, helped to sort out problems with the window company I had used, and worked around problems such as wet concrete slabs and leaking roofs!”
